More than a decade after the resolution of the German Bundestag to transfer the German capital from Bonn to Berlin, Bonn and its surrounding counties have developed into one of Germany's leading regions of science and research. Embedded in the geographical triangle called the ABC-region, with the cities of Aachen, Bonn and Cologne, which is one of the supposedly most concentrated European areas of research and technology, Bonn has shaped its international renown as a location of science and research.

Bonn hosts German ministries, e.g. the German Federal Ministry of Education and research, and several academic institutions such as the German Center of Advanced European Studies and Research (CAESAR), or the German Research Foundation (DFG).

We offer two special touristic events after the workshop:

1) a trip to Cologne including a guided tour to the Dom
2) a trip to the Rhine valey
